Endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) is an established treatment for adults with acute ischemic stroke associated with a large-vessel occlusion. Treatment decisions beyond 6 hours after stroke onset are guided by the imaging profile. Whether advanced imaging can help guide treatment decisions for children with acute stroke beyond 6 hours has not been studied. In this analysis, authors retrospectively analyzed data on children treated with EVT beyond 6 hours in a multicenter trial. The primary endpoint was the change in the pediatric NIH Stroke Scale (PedNIHSS) score from admission to day 7.
