Cannabis use disorder (CUD), defined as the continued use of cannabis despite clinically significant impairments, is frequently associated with mental health comorbidities. Among teenagers and young adults with mood disorders including depression, little is known about the direct risks and harms of CUD. These researchers linked Ohio Medicaid claims to death certificate data to better elucidate relations between CUD and morbidity and mortality in about 200,000 teenagers and young adults with diagnosed mood disorders (age range, 10–24 years).
