CABANA, one of the largest randomized controlled trials of ablation for atrial fibrillation (AF), did not demonstrate a benefit of ablation, compared with drug therapy alone, on the primary composite endpoint (death, disabling stroke, serious bleeding, or cardiac arrest) in an intention-to-treat analysis (partially industry-funded; NEJM JW Cardiol Jun 2019 and JAMA 2019; 321:1261).
