In this prospective observational study, authors tested the feasibility of having patients with chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP) use a Jamar dynamometer to measure their grip strength. Twenty-five patients ages 18 to 85 years old who were on a stable intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) dose were enrolled at five centers. Only three were concomitantly on prednisone or mycophenolate. A producer of IVIG provided funding. Daily grip strength was calculated as an average of 3 recordings in each hand for 6 months.
