World Health Organization guidelines recommend no more than 1 hour per day of screen time for children aged 2 to 4 years old, which led Finnish researchers to evaluate the relationship between preschoolers' e-media use and measures of psychosocial well-being. Between 2011 and 2017, this longitudinal birth-cohort study assessed the relationship between high-dose screen time (>75th percentile) measured at both 18 months and 5 years of age and any associated psychosocial issues at 5 years of age. Psychosocial issues were measured using the validated Strengths and Difficulties and Five-to-Fifteen questionnaires.
