Adrenomedullin is a peptide from the family of calcitonin/calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) that may be involved in the regulation of the blood-brain barrier, vascular tone, and flushing. To assess the response of patients with migraine to adrenomedullin, researchers conducted a crossover study of 20 adults with migraine without aura, randomized to receive either intravenous saline or adrenomedullin (19.9 picomole/kg/min), followed by the other infusion after at least 7 days.
