Some experts state that the symptoms of fibromyalgia are the psychological amplification of normal sensations. However, fibromyalgia is characterized by increased sensitivity to noxious stimuli, reduced daily movements, reduced grip strength, and small fiber neuropathy, which are hard to ascribe to psychological causes.
An international team obtained immunoglobulin G (IgG) from eight patients with fibromyalgia and from eight healthy controls. Each IgG sample was administered intraperitoneally to a mouse for 1 week.
