Worrisome rates of HCV reinfection have been reported internationally among HIV/HCV coinfected patients after successful HCV treatment. Researchers for the EuroSIDA cohort study assessed 2-year prevalence of HCV reinfection in HIV/HCV coinfected persons who had received treatment with interferon (IFN)-based or IFN-free direct acting antivirals (DAA). Among 1022 patients (median age, 50; 78% male; 52% injection drug users), 62% had received IFN-free DAAs.
