Blood pressure (BP) guidelines have focused on target levels but have generally not addressed longitudinal BP patterns, which may have even greater relevance to risk for cardiovascular events. The ideal approach to hypertension treatment is also evolving, with some experts suggesting that low-dose triple therapy combined in one pill is superior to usual care.
