Despite interest in the overlap between the HIV and COVID-19 epidemics, few data have addressed the likelihood of asymptomatic COVID-19 in ambulatory persons living with HIV (PLWH). Now, two studies examine that issue. Investigators in the REPRIEVE Study group obtained data about COVID-19 symptoms in a subset of participants beginning in April 2020; they also measured IgG or IgA SARS-CoV-2 anti-spike antibody levels in samples obtained from May 2020 to February 2021 (i.e., pre-Omicron). The study population consisted of 2464 PLWH (mean age, 53; median CD4 count, 649 cells/mm3; 97% had HIV RNA <400 copies/mL).
