Patients who have had an infection with SARS-CoV-2 may report symptoms of poor exertional tolerance, tachycardia with minimal activity or positional change, and palpitations more than 4 weeks after the acute COVID-19 episode. The purported mechanism is dysregulation of the autonomic nervous system and may be associated with new-onset postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS). To provide insight on the autonomic response in this setting, investigators conducted a prospective evaluation, including head-up tilt-table testing, of 24 such patients in a single center.
