Patient-Reported Outcomes of Atogepant for Migraine Prevention

Improvement in patient-reported outcomes from a randomized controlled trial provide evidence that atogepant reduces the burden of episodic migraine.

Atogepant is an oral calcitonin gene–related receptor antagonist (gepant) that is FDA-approved for the preventive treatment of episodic migraine. The phase 3 ADVANCE trial was an industry-funded double-blind trial comparing daily atogepant (10 mg, 30 mg, or 60 mg) with placebo for 12 weeks in 873 patients with 4 to 14 migraine days per month. The current analysis addressed health-related quality of life and secondary and exploratory endpoints using the Migraine-Specific Quality of Life Questionnaire version 2.1 (MSQ-v2.1), the Activity Impairment in Migraine–Diary (AIM-D) and the Headache Impact Test-6 (HIT-6), completed by patients throughout the study period.
