The first print issue of NEJM Journal Watch Infectious Diseases was published in 1998. Since that beginning, the goal has been to provide an ongoing survey of the medical literature for key studies in infectious disease, with a scope that has included the four latest worldwide pandemics: SARS, H1N1 influenza A, Ebola, and COVID-19. We have also provided information on key new clinical practice guidelines, pharmacologic agents, and vaccines.
To move forward in the current publishing era, NEJM Journal Watch Infectious Diseases is transitioning to an all-digital format. This change will not only allow us to continue the same coverage strategy used successfully for the last 25 years but also to make room for new forms of content not…
