The major goal of thrombolytic therapy for acute stroke is to achieve early reperfusion. Previous studies have suggested that tenecteplase achieves reperfusion more often than alteplase does in large-vessel occlusion stroke when assessed prethrombectomy. It is unclear whether this is true across a wide range of treatment to reperfusion-assessment times, including early assessments when proceeding to thrombectomy right away as well as after the longer intervals required for interhospital transfers.
