Alpha-blockers such as tamsulosin are standard first-line drugs for obstructive voiding symptoms related to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). However, many men with BPH also have “storage symptoms” (e.g., urgency and frequency) attributed to detrusor muscle overactivity.
