Current guidelines recommend at least 14 days of intravenous antibiotic therapy (IVT) for uncomplicated Staphylococcus aureus bacteremia (SAB), with longer courses for complicated cases to prevent relapse and metastatic infection (Enfermedades Infecc Microbiol Clínica Nov 2015; 33:625.e1).
