Stress cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) is a newer functional test to diagnose and prognosticate in those with known or suspected coronary artery disease (CAD) and stable chest pain. To assess the modality's diagnostic and prognostic performance, investigators conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis, pooling data from 64 studies comprising over 74,000 patients.
Compared with invasive coronary angiography, stress CMR had sensitivity of 84%, specificity of 79%, and overall predictive accuracy of 81% for anatomically obstructive CAD.
