Outcome following cerebellar strokes can be highly variable. Small infarcts can be associated with excellent outcomes, but larger strokes with brainstem involvement or compression are potentially fatal. A score to assist with determining prognosis would be clinically useful. These authors conducted a review of 531 patients with ischemic cerebellar stroke seen in five neurology departments in Germany between 2008 and 2021. They analyzed several clinical and radiologic variables to determine factors associated with 30-day mortality or unfavorable outcome (modified Rankin Scale score, 4–6). They developed a score for predicting 30-day mortality and unfavorable outcome.
