Background
In 2019, the USPSTF recommended tenofovir disoproxil fumarate/emtricitabine for preexposure prophylaxis in those at risk for HIV acquisition. Additional agents have since been approved for this indication, necessitating a reexamination of the evidence and an updated recommendation.
