Chronic oral anticoagulation with a factor Xa inhibitor is used to prevent thrombotic events but comes with increased hemorrhage risk. Anticoagulation-associated intracerebral hemorrhage presents a particular challenge, especially when there is early hematoma expansion, which is associated with worse outcomes.
