Neuroimaging may assist in identifying conversion from mild cognitive impairment (MCI) to dementia. In this international, multicenter study, researchers analyzed tau positron emission tomography (PET), amyloid-β (Aβ) PET, and brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data to determine which best predicted this clinical progression. Quantitative neuroimaging measures included tau-PET temporal region of interest, global Aβ PET, and MRI regional cortical thickness scores in an Alzheimer disease (AD) signature region.
