Background

The ACC/AHA last released guidelines about perioperative cardiac management a decade ago (NEJM JW Gen Med Dec 1 2014 and J Am Coll Cardiol 2014; 64:77). Now, they have updated these guidelines in a broad-ranging document that covers not only perioperative risk assessment but also diagnostic testing, medication management, and cost–value considerations.
