The single-dose dengue vaccine Butantan-DV, a live attenuated viral cocktail that covers all four dengue serotypes, is in phase 3 testing of vaccine efficacy (VE) in Brazil. During 2 years' follow-up, the vaccine was found to be safe, and VE against virologically confirmed dengue (VCD) was 79.6%. Now, the investigators report VE after an extended follow-up that also includes VE against severe disease.
