Dr. Zhao Lui and colleagues have retracted their paper entitled “Efficacy of electronic cigarettes vs varenicline and nicotine chewing gum as an aid to stop smoking: A randomized clinical trial,” which appeared online in January and in the March 2024 JAMA Internal Medicine issue and was summarized by NEJM Journal Watch in February 2024 (NEJM JW Gen Med Feb 15 2024 and JAMA Intern Med 2024; 184:291).
