Growing evidence suggests an increased risk for major congenital malformations and neurodevelopmental disorders in the offspring of individuals with epilepsy exposed to certain antiseizure medications (ASMs) during pregnancy. Information is limited on risk for other adverse pregnancy outcomes in such patients and in individuals exposed to ASMs for nonepilepsy indications.
