Interstitial lung diseases can be progressive; early identification and intervention might preserve lung function. Interstitial lung abnormalities (ILAs) are a heterogeneous group of radiographic findings that can precede interstitial lung diseases. A group of clinical experts conducted a systematic literature review for the ATS and reached consensus on refined definitions of ILAs; the writers provide recommendations on screening, evaluation, and management.
