Compression stockings sometimes are used to manage recurrent vasovagal syncope; however, evidence to support their use is limited. In this trial, researchers randomized ≈300 adults with recurrent vasovagal syncope to either therapeutic thigh-high compression stockings (25–30 mm Hg of pressure) or sham compression stockings (10 mm Hg of pressure). Patients with orthostatic hypotension, arrhythmias, coronary artery disease, or structural heart disease were excluded.
