Sleep disturbance in hospitalized patients is widely recognized as an important issue that impairs patients' rest, increases delirium risk, and decreases patient satisfaction. But routine clinical care can contribute to this problem, and most hospitals do not systematically address sleep as part of standard care. Moreover, research on multicomponent interventions to improve sleep, particularly outside of intensive care units (ICUs), is limited.
