According to the latest CDC estimates, 1.1 million adolescents and adults in the U.S. are living with HIV infection — including nearly 233,000 who are unaware of their infection status. Approximately 46% of the infected population is black, 35% is white, and 18% is Hispanic. About half of all infections are attributable to male-to-male sexual contact.
