Inhaled medications are the cornerstone of treatment for asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, but many patients use them incorrectly. In a new study, two researchers reviewed 96 YouTube videos to see how their information compared to the National Asthma Council Australia (NACA) recommendations for use of metered-dose inhalers. Twelve NACA steps were evaluated (see ).
All of the videos were found to be useful or very useful, 99% were of moderate or high reliability, and 99% had moderate to excellent educational quality.
