Internationally recommended measures to reduce transmission of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) include isolating patients known to carry the organism and screening those at risk. Researchers recently assessed the effectiveness and the cost of screening potential MRSA carriers upon hospital admission.
