Axillary osmidrosis includes unpleasant odor, excessive sweating, and staining of clothes. The goal of surgical treatment is to excise apocrine and eccrine glands when more conservative treatments have failed. These authors describe a simple surgical technique that gives good results and reduces the incidence of complications.
Elliptical excision of axillary apocrine and eccrine glands was performed on 343 patients from Taiwan. The ellipse involved the axillary hair and paralleled the axillary crease.
