Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS) and toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) are severe reactions, mostly to drugs. Mortality associated with these conditions has been documented in many prior studies. These authors analyzed data from the RegiSCAR ((International Registry of Severe Cutaneous Adverse Reactions to drugs) database, where related data have been collected since 2003, to assess risk factors for mortality for SJS and TEN. Most of the included patients were from Germany or France (85%), with the remainder from other European countries (Austria, Italy, and the Netherlands) and Israel.
