Substantial research suggests that testosterone plays a role in aggressive behavior in men and some research indicates that women with high testosterone are more sexually active, competitive, masculine, rambunctious, and drink more alcohol than women with low testosterone. However, the overall relation between testosterone and violence in women is unclear. This cross-sectional study examined the role of testosterone in 87 female inmates at a maximum security prison.
