Aggression is associated with hostile or violent behavior or attitudes toward another person. Maladaptive aggression problems affect 10% to 25% of children and youth at some time in their development. Predatory aggression is planned and controlled aggression and seen infrequently by pediatricians. In contrast, impulsive aggression is typically unplanned, poorly controlled, and a common symptom of childhood disorders, including attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), oppositional defiant disorder, conduct disorder, and autism spectrum disorders.
