The concentration of tretinoin originally used to treat photoaging (0.1%) proved to be too irritating to many patients' skin. This randomized, double-blind trial compared the safety and efficacy of a lower concentration of tretinoin and the original concentration in the treatment of photoaging in 126 patients. Subjects applied 0.1% tretinoin cream, 0.025% tretinoin cream, or placebo once daily to the face and forearms for 48 weeks; 99 subjects completed the study.
