An effective treatment for cellulite has been the Holy Grail of cosmeceutical companies and device manufacturers. Investigators performed a randomized, comparative, prospective study of two devices for the treatment of cellulite: TriActive, which combines a low-energy diode laser, contact cooling, suction, and massage; and VelaSmooth, which combines infrared light, bipolar radiofrequency, suction, and massage (both manufacturers contributed support). Twenty patients underwent 12 cellulite treatments with both devices, one method per thigh. Each15-minute treatment consisted of 15 to 30 passes over the treatment area.
