Although an early invasive strategy is generally recommended for patients with acute coronary syndromes at high risk for adverse events (Journal Watch Cardiology Sep 12 2007), the optimal timing of angiography is not known. In this retrospective analysis of data from the SYNERGY trial, a manufacturer-funded study of enoxaparin versus unfractionated heparin in early intervention for non–ST-segment-elevation ACS, investigators examined the relation between time to angiography (in 6-hour intervals) and outcomes in 6352 ACS patients who underwent coronary angiography within 48 hours of hospital admission.
