Split-dose bowel preparation refers to giving a portion (typically half) of a preparation solution on the day of colonoscopy. Its benefits to patient tolerability and quality of bowel preparation are well documented (JW Gastroenterol Jun 24 2011). In the current study, investigators retrospectively examined the effects of implementing split dosing as the preferred method of bowel preparation in a single institution. The primary outcomes of interest were adenoma and polyp detection rates, which have not previously been studied with regard to split dosing.
